Thank you for choosing to be part of our community at Twin Twist (“Twin Twist”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). We are deeply committed to protecting your personal information and safeguarding your privacy. Twin Twist is a daily word game played in your browser (“Platform”).

By visiting Twin Twist (https://playtwintwist.com) as well as any other media form, media channel, mobile website, or mobile application that is linked or otherwise connected to this Platform (collectively, this “Site”), you acknowledge that you have read and understood the terms of this Policy. In this Policy, we seek to explain to you in the clearest way possible what information we collect, use, share, store, and what rights you have in relation to it. We hope you take some time to read through it carefully, as it is important. If there are any terms in this Policy that you disagree with, please discontinue the use of our Sites and our services.

This Policy applies to all information collected through our Site and Platform, and/or any related services, sales, marketing, or events (we refer to them collectively in this Policy as the "Services").

Please read this policy carefully to make informed decisions about sharing your personal information with us. For additional information about our business practices, please read our Terms of Use.

WHAT IS PERSONAL INFORMATION?

Any information relating to an individual or household (as applicable), from which that individual can be identified (whether directly or indirectly).

WHO DO WE COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM?

To properly operate our Services, Twin Twist may collect data from users and visitors of the Platform and Sites. We collect data from users and visitors of the Platform.

WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT AND WHY?

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect different types of information. This information can be collected automatically when you interact with our Services, provided directly by you, or obtained from service providers and third parties.

Automatically Collected

When you visit, use, or navigate the Platform and Site, we automatically collect certain information, such as your IP address and/or browser and device characteristics. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information). Still, it may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Services, and other technical information. This information is used to maintain the security and operation of our Services and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes, and may be shared with third parties as described below in “Will your information be shared with anyone?”

Information Provided by You

We collect the answers you submit, puzzle progress, hints used, scores, and action records. A randomly generated player identifier connects your browser to saved progress. Twin Twist does not offer registered accounts, payments, forums, or marketing subscriptions.

INFORMATION SHARED WITH THIRD PARTIES?

We share personal information with your consent where required, and otherwise as permitted by applicable law, including to provide services, comply with legal obligations, protect rights, and support site analytics. We may disclose your information for the following reasons:

Business or Commercial Purposes

We use gameplay information to save progress, check answers, prevent duplicate actions and abuse, and calculate aggregate daily comparisons. We use technical and usage information to operate, secure, debug, and improve the Site.

Hosting providers process data needed to serve the Site. When an alternative answer needs checking, we send the puzzle phrase, documented answer, and submitted answer to TypeSafe/Jev. The game does not include your player identifier in that request. Avoid submitting personal information in answers. We store answer-check results to support gameplay and reuse judgments.

Google Analytics processes browser, device, and usage information to help us understand visits. Twin Twist does not currently display advertisements or provide payment processing or email marketing.

Use of Tracking Technologies and Cookies

We use a player cookie to associate your browser with saved progress and browser storage to remember creative-answer celebrations. Google Analytics uses cookies and related technologies to measure visits and usage.

For details and browser controls, see our Cookie Policy. Twin Twist does not currently provide an on-site consent or cookie preferences control.

How do we use your information?

How long do we keep your information?

We will retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Policy, unless a more extended retention period is required or permitted by law, such as for tax or accounting purposes, responding to a subpoena, or other legal requirements.
